When Lion Air flight JT-610 crashed into the Java Sea shortly after takeoff from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta on 29 October 2018, killing all 189 aboard, the families of the victims turned to LA-based lawyer Tom Girardi to sue the maker of the Boeing 737 Max plane.
But when the settlement money failed to arrive, the families were left with more questions than answers and yet another legal battle ensued as they tried to reclaim the lost funds.
